Hello! I’m Rachel, a native of Austin, Texas.
After getting a BFA in design and working as a book designer moonlighting as an illustrator, I moved across the pond to the UK to pursue my Master's degree in Children’s Book Illustration at Cambridge School of Art.
I've had the opportunity to collaborate with amazing clients across the book world from publishers like Hachette, book boxes including FairyLoot, Illumicrate, Fae Crate, and LitJoy, and many incredible authors both traditionally and self-published.
I create illustrations for all sorts of projects including young adult and adult fiction, nonfiction, custom typography, merchandise, and beyond!
I enjoy combining expressive linework, lush textures, and muted color palettes to create images full of moody atmosphere and gothic romanticism. My illustrations are inspired by a lifelong love of horror films, faerie tales, a fascination with the 19th century, and whatever my current hyperfixation may be. Recent hyperfixations have included Loki, whimsi-goth fashion, and fanfiction.
